St. Joseph Woman Hydroplanes in Platte County Crash Sunday

A Saint Joseph woman was injured in a Platte County crash Sunday afternoon.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred on I-29 when a vehicle driven by 23-year-old Saydee C. Cochran-Rice was heading southbound.

Troopers say Cochran-Rice’s vehicle began to hydroplane, left the roadway, struck a guardrail, returned to the road, struck a semi, and came to a rest.

Cochran-Rice suffered minor injuries and was taken to Mosaic in Saint Joseph for treatment.

Troopers say Cochran-Rice was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
