St. Louis Cardinals President Taking “Serious Look” At Organizing Sports Betting Ballot Measure

(MISSOURINET) – It’s the bottom of the 9th inning in the Missouri Legislature’s regular session and lawmakers could slide into home base without legalizing sports betting again. The session is scheduled to end next Friday and St. Louis Cardinals President Bill DeWitt, the Third, says he is taking a “serious look” at putting a sports betting ballot measure before Missouri voters in 2024.

Warrensburg State Senator Denny Hoskins has threatened to block a vote on the bill. Hoskins wants to include regulations for video lottery machines, but that does not fly with the bill sponsor, state Representative Dan Houx (howx).
