Stanberry School Board members approved their salary schedule for the coming year during a meeting held on Monday night. The meeting also closed out the fiscal year for Stanberry.
Superintendent Bob Heddiger presented the board with 3 salary options for the year. Those options included no base salary raise, but salary steps, and two other options with raises to the base salary and allowing steps on the salary schedule. The board chose the option that will raise Stanberry’s base pay for certified staff to $32,300 and give steps on the salary schedule. That option will provide an average raise of 2.1% for returning staff. That percentage will also be applied to the pay for non-certified staff and administrators for the upcoming year.
Stanberry’s board approved a preliminary budget for the coming year. The budget projects revenues of just under $4.3 million and expenditures of $4.57 million. It is a projected budget that will deficit spend $276,000. Superintendent Heddinger says there will be firmer numbers available at Stanberry’s August school board meeting. The school’s revenues are negatively affected in the upcoming school year with lower state funding from their transportation and Foundation Formula revenue.
Stanberry’s board approved additions to the Extra Duty Personnel Roster. Those included Jessica Santa Cruz as Football Cheerleading sponsor and Homecoming Sponsor, Susie Wiederholt as Basketball Cheerleading Sponsor, Ronda Carroll for Girls and Boys Golf Coach, Brittney McClurg as Assistant High School Softball Coach, Bradley Sheeley for Vocal and Instrumental Music Director, and Sidney Eckard for Bulldog Bark and Bokane and Littel Bokane Sponsor.
The board received a list of surplus items that will be advertised. Sealed bids will be taken.
