A Stanberry teenager is charged with eight felony counts of possession of child pornography in Gentry County.
Eighteen-year old Logan S. Cassidy of Stanberry is set to appear in court on June 3rd on those charges.
According to a probable cause statement filed with the court, on February 28, 2019 the Western Missouri Cyber Crimes Task Force reviewed a tip sent to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children by Facebook. It is alleged the tip reported Cassidy uploaded to Facebook Messenger a video which appeared to be two children engaged in sexual activity with the oversight of an adult.
After receiving consent to search computers and the wifi accessible cell phone at the residence, investigators alleged to have located images which were child pornographic in nature. The statement says that 108 images were categorized as child sexual abuse material with some children appeared to be around three years in age.
The Gentry County court issued a warrant for Cassidy with bond set at $1,000 cash or corporate surety.
