State Representative Says Missouri Senate Needs to Settle Differences Over Congressional Redistricting Clash

(Missourinet) A state Representative says the Missouri Senate needs to settle its differences on a clash about a Congressional redistricting plan. The Senate is taking a break on the bill because leadership says business critical to Missourians has been delayed by a small group of senators willing to send the congressional map to federal courts if they do not get districts that suit their ambition. State Representative Louis Riggs, a Republican from northeast Missouri’s Hannibal, says tying up legislative business needs to stop.

Six to eight members of the Conservative Caucus have been delaying passage of the bill in an attempt to have seven Republican strongholds.
