Stewartsville Police Chief Resigns

The City of Stewartsville has announced their Police Chief has resigned.

Through their Facebook page the city announced that Police Chief Andrew Porter has resigned from his position. According to the City release he did so because of “a better job opportunity for his family”.

The City of Stewartsville says they have asked the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office to help with law enforcement until the City Council “comes up with a plan for the Police Department.” According to the statement, City Codes will still be enforced but will go through the City Attorney.

If there is an emergency or any need for an law enforcement Stewartsville residents are asked to call 911 or DeKalb County Sheriffs Office.
