Suicide Threat Phoned Into Missouri Capitol Lawmaker’s Office

(Missourinet) It was an unusual day Thursday for State Representative Adrian Plank. His office staff received a phone call yesterday from a man threatening to commit suicide:

“Got to make sure people are safe and you got to follow up, and we did, and we got it handled pretty quickly and made sure the guy was safe and not going through with his threat.”

The caller wouldn’t give his location, so staff members arranged to have the call traced and he was eventually located. Plank says the man responded back to apologize for disrupting their work day and to let them know he was okay. Anyone in crisis can call 988, or visit 988lifeline.org.
