Sunday Accident Leaves Three With Injuries
A Sunday afternoon accident in Daviess County left three individuals with injuries, including one with what were described as serious injuries.
According to the accident report from Troop H of the Highway Patrol, at 4:50 P.M. Sunday 53-year-old Des Moines resident Melisa A Huffman was driving a 2005 Ford 500 northbound on Interstate 35 about four miles north of Altamont when she lost control and the vehicle, which crossed the median and went into the southbound lanes of the interstate.
That is when her vehicle collided head-on with a 2017 Buick Enclave being driven by 63-year-old Princeton resident Bobbi K. Myers.
Huffman suffered moderate injuries and was taken by Cameron Ambulance to Cameron Regional Medical Center for treatment. Her 10-year-old female passenger suffered serious injuries and was taken by Cameron Ambulance to Children’s Mercy Hospital.
Myers suffered moderate injuries and was taken by Daviess County EMS to Cameron Regional Medical Center.
The Highway Patrol says all three were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident.
