Tax Levy Approved By King City Council

King City’s Board of Aldermen approved the tax levy for the year at their meeting on Monday night.

King City’s levy will total $1.24 per hundred dollars of assessed valuation. That levy will include $.74 into the General Fund, $0.18 into both the Park and Health Funds, and $0.15 into the Police Fund.

The council received updates on the Emergency Water Line project. The board also agreed to transfer city funds from Citizens Bank and Trust to the Independent Farmers Bank since the King City branch office of the Citizens Bank and Trust will be closing.

The King City Chamber of Commerce reported that the stage project on the Living History grounds will be done prior to the September 19th Living History Day event at King City.

Council members designated the entities that will receive the salaries that are donated by city office holders. The King City Senior Center, the Ministerial Alliance, and the King City School Lunch program have been designated to receive the funding.

The city police officer also gave his monthly report and discussed some property upkeep issues being addressed around the city.
