Teen Detained After Reported Threat to the Cameron School District

A 17-year-old teen is in custody after a reported threat to the Cameron School District.

A post on Facebook from Cameron Police and Emergency Management says the school district received word of a threat made on social media Tuesday.

Authorities say they identified a Cameron High School student as a suspect and learned the juvenile was in Saint Joseph.

Saint Joseph Police then detained the teen and transported the juvenile to Cameron Police for questioning.

Police ultimately transported the teen to a juvenile detention center to await formal charges.

Cameron Police say the Cameron School Administration, Cameron School Resource Officer, Saint Joseph Police Department, and Juvenile Office all assisted in this investigation.
