Teen Driver Seriously Injured in DeKalb County Accident

DEKALB COUNTY, MO – A teenage driver was seriously injured in a one-vehicle accident near Cameron on Monday afternoon.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the 15-year old driver was at the intersection of SE Irwin Road and SE Smith Road, 4 miles north of Cameron just prior to 4 p.m. when he attempted a curve. The vehicle was travelling too fast around the curve and travelled off the south side of the roadway where he collided with a tree.
The driver was taken to Children’s Mercy Hospital.
