The Macon Man Accused of over 100 Sex Crimes Makes Court Appearance

The man from Macon that stands accused of over 100 sex crimes made his first court appearance in Linn County Wednesday.

Court documents say the defendant appeared in custody within 48 hours of his arrest and was formally arraigned.

Harper entered a plea of not guilty. and was advised of bond rights and was allowed to address the court. The defendant stated that he resides in Macon, MO with his son and that he works for Waste Management and has for some 11 years.

The state opposes bond and read from a victim statement from complaining witnesses who also oppose bond based on their personal safety concerns. The court denied the request for bond with a new bond hearing on July 1, 2021 at 11:30 a.m.

The state is to notify any victims if victim notification is required.
