Thockmorton Pleads Guilty In Co-Sleeping Death Case

A St. Joseph woman pleaded guilty to charges related to the co-sleeping death of an infant in her care.

On Wednesday a Buchanan County judge accepted a guilty plea to one count of endangering the welfare of a child in the second degree by Madison Thockmorton. Court documents accused Thockmorton of co-sleeping with three-month-old Lorelai Kress at a day care she ran out of her home.

The judge accepted Thockmorton’s guilty plea but has decided to postpone sentencing until November 24 to allow the victims family more time to address the court. Prosecutors in the case have suggested probation and two days in jail as punishment for Thockmorton.
