Three Area Libraries Get Grants From MO SOS Office

Missouri Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft’s office has announced the awarding of more than $320,000 in additional funding for 28 technology mini-grants for Missouri libraries.

These grants provide funding to public libraries for technology and automation-related equipment and software to improve network infrastructure and expand services and are administered through an application process and awarded based on need, as well as the library’s ability to effectively bring the project to fruition.

In our area three libraries received grants.

The Hamilton Public Library received a grant of $5,369 for technology upgrades.

The Mid-Continent Public Library system also received $22,000 for expansion of the Chromebook To Go program.

The Putnam County Public Library received $5,817 to replace equipment and upgrade software.

Since January 1, 2023, Ashcroft’s office, through the Missouri State Library, has awarded 146 grants totaling over two million dollars.
