Three Children Suffer Minor Injuries When Car Hits Parked Car and Building

Three St. Joseph children were left with minor injuries when the vehicle they were traveling in went off road hitting a parked car and building Sunday in Platte County.

Troop A of the Missouri State highway Patrol says 30-year-old St. Joseph resident Stephanie M. Rodriguez was driving a 2010 Chevrolet on Interstate 29 at mile-marker 7.8 Sunday morning at 9:50 when her vehicle went off the roadway, traveled through a fence and then struck a parked vehicle before continuing on to hit a building.

Rodriguez suffered minor injuries but refused treatment at the scene. Her three juvenile passengers, ages infant, one and six, all suffered minor injuries for which the parent will seek their own treatment.

The Highway Patrol says everyone involved was properly buckled up at the time of the accident.
