Three Die in Crashes Statewide During Christmas Holiday Period

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports 3 traffic fatalities came on Missouri highways during the Christmas Holiday Counting Period which ended just before midnight on Monday.

The patrol reported two fatalities in the Jefferson City Troop F Zone and another in the Springfield area.

Troopers investigated 306 traffic crashes which injured 84. There were 52 DWI citations issued.

Last year, 8 people died and 401 were injured during the 2021 Christmas holiday counting period. There were 67 arrests for driving while impaired.

There wre no boating crashes nor drownings over the 2022 Christmas holiday counting period.

The New Year’s Holiday counting period begins at 6pm this Friday.
