Three Felonies for Independence Man in Clinton County

A man from Independence was arrested on three felonies in Clinton County early Saturday morning.
A report from the Missouri Highway Patrol says 59-year-old Phillip J. Dayton was arrested at 12:50 am and charged with felony driving while intoxicated, felony possession of controlled substance – methamphetamine, felony possession of a controlled substance in a detention facility, lane violation, and no seat belt.
Dayton was taken to the Clinton County Sheriff’s Department for a 24-hour hold.
