Three Hurt In Tuesday Morning Crash Near St. Joe

Three people were left with injuries in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday morning near St. Joseph.
According to the accident report from Troop H of the Highway Patrol, 73-year-old Easton resident Gary R. Power was driving a 2022 GMC Canyon eastbound on Missouri Route 6 about two miles east of St. Joseph at 9:57 A.M. when he attempted to make a left turn onto River Ridge Road.
AS he attempted that turn a 2010 Ford Econoline E-150 was attempting to pass. The Power vehicle struck the van in the front left wheel well.
The Power truck went off the north side of the roadway and came to rest in a ditch facing east.
The van, being driven by 44-year-old Kansas City, Kansas resident Antonio Abilez Wilmer, came to rest on its wheel on the center line.
According to the accident report Power was not wearing a seat belt and suffered moderate injuries. Both Wilmer and his passenger, 31-year-old Sergio O. Velazquez also of Kansas City, Kansas, were both wearing seat belts but suffered minor injuries.
All three were taken by Buchanan County EMS to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph for treatment.
