Train Derailment Near Braymer

A Monday afternoon train derailment in Braymer forced some residents in the area to evacuate and closed the area roads while crews cleared the wreckage.

The derailment happened at 1:20 P.M. Monday when nine of the Canadian Pacific Kansas City train’s 190 cars derailed in southern Braymer. Eight of those cars were reportedly empty with the other carrying asphalt, which was the cause for concern.

According to the reports the cars all remained upright and were not breached and there was no threat to public health.

The Highway Patrol says no injuries were reported.
