Troopers Report Arrests of Two St. Joseph Men Late Tuesday & Early This Morning

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the arrests of two Saint Joseph men from late Tuesday and early this morning in unrelated incidents.

The first arrest came Tuesday night around 11:31 in Buchanan County, with troopers arresting 54-year-old Gabriel E. Thompson on preliminary charges of felony driving while intoxicated and misdemeanor speeding.

Authorities booked Thompson into the Buchanan County Law Enforcement Center on a 12-hour hold.

The second arrest came at 7:10 this morning in Buchanan County, with troopers arresting 22-year-old Kaleb J. Penland on a misdemeanor Clay County warrant for stealing.

Troopers also arrested Penland on new preliminary driving charges of speeding and not having valid insurance.

Authorities took Penland to the Buchanan County Law Enforcement Center to await bond.
