Truck Driver Escapes Injury After Falling Asleep At The Wheel

 

A St. Joseph truck driver escaped injury early this (Wednesday) morning after falling asleep at the wheel and hitting a stop sign.

The Highway Patrol says 42-year-old Irvin E. McQueen was driving a 2020 Kenworth eastbound on U.S. 36 Highway about four miles east of Hamilton at 2:55 A.M. when he fell asleep at the wheel. His truck went off the north side of the highway where it struck a stop sign.

McQueen was able to bring the truck to a controlled stop on the highway shoulder.

McQueen was wearing a seat belt at the time but still sufferer minor injuries. He refused treatment at the scene.
