Twenty Percent of Donors at Albany Blood Drive Give For the First Time

ALBANY, MO – Over twenty percent of donors who gave blood at last week’s Albany Blood Drive were first time donors.

Betty Tinker with the Community Blood Center said 54 donors gave 46 units of blood.

The Community Blood Center says the region has dropped to a less than three day supply of readily available blood products, which is similar to the peak of the pandemic. Giving blood can save up to 3 lives in one hour.

The Albany High School National Honor Society sponsored last week’s drive. Upcoming area blood drives appear in the Community Events section.
