Two Cameron Teens Injured in Thursday Crash

A pair of Cameron teenagers were injured in a Dekalb County crash Thursday afternoon.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred on Southeast Heimbaugh Road, five miles north of Cameron, when a vehicle driven by a 16-year-old boy was heading northbound.

Troopers say the unnamed minor lost control due to excessive speed, overcorrected, drove off the east side of the roadway, struck a culvert, became airborne, and came to a rest.

The driver suffered minor injuries and was taken to Cameron Regional Medical Center for treatment.

A passenger in the vehicle, another 16-year-old boy, also suffered minor injuries and was taken to Cameron Regional for treatment.

Troopers say both were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
