Two Charged in Cameron Car Theft
Two Northwest Missouri residents face charges after a car theft in Cameron.
Cameron Police say DeKalb County Prosecutor Erik Tate has filed charges against 28-year-old Saint Joseph resident Dennis Kerns and 27-year-old Princeton resident Jacklyn Ormsby for felony charges of first-degree tampering with a motor vehicle.
Authorities say they recieved a report January 20 about a vehicle being stolen in the 11-hundred block of Euclid Avenue in Cameron.
Police say other reports of items being stolen from parked cars, in that area, also came in.
Detectives later found surveillance footage of the two suspects with the vehicle in DeKalb County and Saint Joseph.
Saint Joseph Police were notifited, dispatched to the location, and discovered the two suspects and the stolen vehicle.
Kerns’ bond is set at five-thousand dollars cash only.
Ormsby’s bond was set at two-thousand dollars cash only.
Cameron Police say Saint Joseph Police, Stewartsville Police, The Missouri State Highway Patrol and Missouri Probation and Parole all assisted in the investigation.
