Two Drivers Injured In Gentry County Accident

The drivers of a Freightliner tractor and a pickup were taken to the hospital following an accident in Gentry County Tuesday morning.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports 18 year old Bryson Schellhorn of Guilford was driving a pickup and pulling a towed unit eastbound on Route Z, 6 miles east of King City, and went into the other lane and into the path of a Freightliner tractor operated by 62 year old Douglas Clibon of Helena. The front driver side of the Freightliner hit the back axle of the towed unit pulled by Schellhorn’s pickup. Schellhorn’s vehicle went off the side of the roadway, returned to the road, and eventually stopped in the westbound lane of Highway Z. Clibon’s Freightliner went off the roadway and landed on its driver’s side.

Both drivers were taken to Mosaic Life Care in St Joseph with minor injuries.

The accident took place just after 8am Tuesday morning.
