A man from Kansas was speeding in Buchanan County and was arrested on two felony charges.

A report from the Missouri Highway Patrol says 27-year-old Shane T. Harless-Banks of Wathena was arrested at 12:10 pm Wednesday.

Harless-Banks had a warrant from the St. Joseph Police Department for a misdemeanor failure to appear on careless driving. New charges in the arrest include a class D felony possession of controlled substance – marijuana, felony possession of controlled substance – synthetic narcotic, misdemeanor unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, exceeded the posted speed limit, no seat belt, and operated a motor vehicle without a valid license.

He was booked into the Buchanan County Law Enforcement Center for a 24-hour hold.
