Two people from Oklahoma were injured in an accident in Buchanan County Monday afternoon.

The Missouri Highway Patrol reports 45-year-old Jerry E. McClurg and a 13-year-old male from Collinsville, Oklahoma were heading south on I-29. A vehicle in front of them driven by 60-year-old Larry P. Crider of Oregon, Missouri began to slow down due to congestion at the city limits of St. Joseph.

At 12:49 pm as McClurg attempted to avoid the collision, the front driver’s side of his vehicle struck the rear passenger side of Crider’s vehicle. McClurg’s vehicle then went into a slide before coming to a stop blocking a lane.
