Two Hurt in Andrew County Crash

A one car accident Monday night in Andrew County has left two individuals injured, including one with serious injuries.

According to Troop H of the Missouri State Highway Patrol 28-year-old Savannah resident Donald C. Sipes was driving a 2011 Ford Focus northbound on Interstate 29 at County Road 352 about three miles north of St. Joseph when his vehicle went off the east side of the roadway.

The vehicle returned to County Road 352 before traveling off the west side of the roadway where it struck a building and a tractor trailer in the parking lot.

Neither Sipes nor passenger 25-year-old Maryville resident Breanna A. Hostetler were reportedly wearing seat belts at the time. Hostetler suffered serious injuries while Sipes suffered moderate injuries. Both were taken to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph for treatment.

Sipes was also arrested on charges of misdemeanor driving while intoxicated, careless and imprudent driving involving an accident, and not wearing a seat belt.
