Two Injured in Rollover Accident Near Hopkins

HOPKINS, MO – A driver and passenger in a vehicle involved in an accident in Nodaway County Friday afternoon were taken to the hospital.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 77-year old Joan Westcott of Hopkins was southbound on Katy Road, 1 mile south of Hopkins when she lost control of the vehicle, travelled off the roadway and overturned. Westcott was ejected. Her passenger, a 14-year old male from Hopkins was partially ejected from the vehicle. Westcott was taken by air evac to KU Med Center with serious injuries. The 14-year old was taken to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph with moderate injuries.

The accident took place around 3:40 p.m.
