Two Injured, One Charged in Saturday Buchanan County Crash

Two suffered injuries, and one person faces charges in an early Saturday crash in Buchanan County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the accident occurred around 1:19 Saturday morning on Southeast 140th Road, four miles north of Gower, as 22-year-old Stewartsville resident Kurtis E. Nelson drove southbound.

Troopers say Nelson lost control of his Ram 250, went off the east side of the road, struck a tree, and came to a rest.

Nelson and a passenger, 21-year-old Agency resident Cayden J. Pendleton, suffered serious injuries and sought treatment at Mosaic.

Authorities say both men didn’t wear seat belts at the time of the crash.

Following the crash, troopers arrested Nelson on preliminary charges of felony driving while intoxicated and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway involving an accident.
