Two Injuries Reported in Three Vehicle Accident Thursday in Harrison County

Two injuries were reported in a Thursday evening crash in Harrison County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred on I-35, two miles south of Eagleville, when a vehicle driven by 31-year-old Kansas City resident Franklin S. Garcia was heading northbound.

Troopers say Garcia attempted to overtake a northbound tractor-trailer, but cut-in on the tractor-trailer as the pass was attempted.

After impact, Garcia’s vehicle swerved into the passing lane and struck another northbound vehicle driven by 29-year-old Saint Joseph resident Dylan M. Wilburn.

Garcia’s vehicle left the roadway, overturned several times, and came to a rest on its top.

Wilburn’s vehicle left the west side of the road and came to a rest upright in the median.

The tractor-trailer came to a controlled stop on the shoulder.

Garcia and Wilburn both suffered minor injuries and were taken to Harrison County Community Hospital for treatment.

Troopers say Wilburn was driving a fully marked patrol car emergency vehicle, with full emergency equipment activated and en route to a priority call, when the crash occurred.

Everyone involved was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
