Two Killed in Head-on Collision Near Lathrop

CLINTON COUNTY, MO – Two drivers were killed in a Clinton County accident Wednesday afternoon near Lathrop.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the accident took place around 3:30 in the afternoon on Missouri 116, 2 miles east of Lathrop as the two vehicles were travelling opposite directions when they struck head-on in the center of the highway. Both vehicles came to rest upright on the roadway.
Thirty-six year old Christopher McCubbin of Polo was pronounced dead at the scene. Seventy-three year old Lance Romig of Kansas City was taken to Liberty Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Seventy-four year old Cory Day of Gladstone was taken to Liberty Hospital with moderate injuries.
