Two Lifelong St Joseph Residents Facing Off Against Each Other After Mayoral Primary Last Tuesday

Two lifelong residents of St. Joseph is facing off against each other after the St Joseph Mayoral Primary held Tuesday of last week.

John Josendale, and Gary Wilkinson were the victors, according to the unofficial results they secured over 60% of the votes between the both of them. Josendale had 2,998 votes, and Wilkinson had 1,706.

Josendale worked as a Chief Officer at Wire Rope and Wire Co. before retiring in 2020, that was following working there for 47 years.

Wilkinson was a former City Council Member in St Joseph for three terms from mid-1980’s to 1998, as well as serving on several local commissions and committees for the city.

The winner that will be decided in the general election, will replace current mayor Bill McMurray who announced last year that he was not seeking re-election.
