Two North Carolina Men Injured in I-35 Crash Thursday

Two North Carolina men were injured in a DeKalb County crash Thursday morning.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred on I-35, a mile north of Cameron, when a freightliner driven by 31-year-old Durham, North Carolina resident Adam E. Altayeb Mohamed was heading northbound.

Troopers say his vehicle began to slide, went off the east side of the road, struck an embankment, and came to a rest blocking the northbound lanes of I-35.

Altayeb Mohamed and a passenger, 29-year-old High Point, North Carolina resident Sudan O. Hamdan Gamar, both suffered minor injuries and were taken to Cameron Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Authorities say Hamdan Gamar was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
