Two Semi’s Collide in Buchanan County
Two semis were involved in an accident in Buchanan County Thursday afternoon.
The Missouri Highway Patrol reports both drivers suffering minor injuries in the accident which happened at 12:48 pm.
The accident report says 52-year-old Paul D. Bennett of Seneca, Kansas was driving a Peterbilt and 59-year-old James C. Morris of DeKalb, Missouri was driving an International. They were both heading north on US-59 Highway when Morris pulled onto the left shoulder to make a wide left turn.
At this time, Bennett made an attempt to pass Morris’s truck and Morris turned into Bennett’s truck, which then traveled off the left side of the highway and struck an embankment.
Bennett was taken by private vehicle to a hospital in Sabetha, Kansas while Morris was taken to Mosaic in St. Joseph.
