Two Sheridan Teens Injured in Accident Caused by Ice-Covered Roadway

SHERIDAN, MO – Two teenagers were injured Monday afternoon in an accident in Sheridan.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 18-year old Sheridan resident Dillan Gavigan was eastbound on Walnut Street east of Missouri 246 when his vehicle began to slide on the snow covered roadway. The vehicle went off the south side of the roadway and struck a tree. The vehicle then returned to the roadway, travelled off the opposite side and struck a sign, concrete walkway and another tree before coming to a rest.

Gavigan was taken by life flight to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph with serious injuries. A 13-year old male passenger from Sheridan was taken to Mosaic Life Care in Maryville with moderate injuries. Neither were wearing a seat belt.
