Two St. Joseph Bridges Closing Next Week For Maintenance

Two Saint Joseph area bridges will close next week for yearly maintenance.

Crews with the Missouri Department of Transportation will close the Route A-C bridge over U.S. Route 36 and portions of the Interstate 229 Double-Decker Bridge to complete concrete replacements on the driving surface.

MoDOT says crews will begin with the Route A-C Bridge at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, November 13, and will wrap that phase at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 14.

The I-229 Double-Decker Bridge work starts the following morning at 8:30 on Wednesday, November 15, and will finish at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 16.

Each bridge will remain closed overnight to allow the concrete to cure.

Motorists will need to seek an alternate route during this time.

All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
