U.S. Route 36 Closures Next Week At Hamilton For Bridge Replacement Project

The replacement of the Route 13 bridge over U.S. Highway 36 at Hamilton will require some overnight lane closures on Route 36 next week.

Starting at 7 P.M. on Monday, June 12, through 7 A.M. Tuesday, June 13, crews will close U.S. Route 36 westbound beneath Route 13 to place the new bridge girders. Eastbound U.S. Route 36 will close from 7 P.M. Tuesday, June 13, through 7 A.M. Wednesday, June 14.

During the closures traffic will be directed up and over the on and off ramps at the Route 13 exit. An 18-foot width restriction will also be in place.

Due to an ongoing resurfacing project on Route 13 from the southern Hamilton City Limits at Mill Creek Road to Route HH in Kingston, traffic traveling south of Hamilton on Route 13 will be directed along a signed detour using U.S. Route 36 to the west, Interstate 35 to the south, and Route 116 to the east to reconnect with Route 13.

Motorists traveling north and south on Route 13 will still be able to use the on and off ramps to access U.S. Route 36 throughout the project.

The project is expected to be completed in early August, but as always is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
