University of Missouri System Mask Mandate Expires

The University of Missouri System will stop requiring masks starting Saturday at all four campuses. Local mandates in Kansas City and St. Louis will require those on those campuses to continue to wear face coverings.

The University system put the temporary mask mandate in place in July and extended it in September. University President Mun Choi said the mandate worked, helping to avoid a spike in campus cases and hospitalizations.

The University continues to request, but not mandate, masks in indoor spaces, particularly those where social distancing isn’t possible.
