UPS Teamsters Tentative Agreement Explained

(Missouri Net) 340-thousand UPS workers nationwide were on the verge of walking out of their job and striking, lobbying for increased pay and better job benefits.

Those union workers that make up a majority of the UPS workforce could potentially get their wish under a tentative agreement made that could prevent a shipping catastrophe.

Teamsters Local 688 represents about 35-hundred UPS workers across eastern Missouri. Chris Tongay (TONG-gay), with the union, says the deadline to finish voting on the historic wage increases is August 22.

Tentative changes include $21 per hour for new and existing part-time hires, with advancement to $23 per hour, and delivery drivers will get $49 per hour.
