USDA Announces Financing For Southwest Iowa Rural Electric Cooperative Upgrades

The USDA Rural Development has announced an intent to help finance upgrades for the Southwest Iowa Rural Electric Cooperative through the Electric Loan and Loan Guarrantee Program.
Southwest Iowa Rural Electric Cooperative will receive a $7 million loan to build and improve 166 miles of line and connect 326 consumers. The loan will also include nearly $82,000 in smart grid technologies.
The Southwest Iowa REC serves 11 counties in southwest Iowa.
