A Facebook post from the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department tells of an early morning pursuit.

On 04/01/2021 at approximately 0645 hours a vehicle pursuit took place in Daviess county involving a stolen vehicle out of Chillicothe Missouri. The vehicle was able to elude law enforcement at the time. It is believed the suspect is out of the Daviess County area.

There are rumors circulating the community that the Tri-County School District was put on lockdown and that there was an active shooter south of Jamesport. This is NOT accurate information, there is no active shooter, and the Tri-County School District, its staff, students, and property were not in any danger.

The Chillicothe Police gave an update later saying the vehicle was recovered.

The driver of this vehicle eluded Law Enforcement and attempted to assault Law Enforcement with the vehicle. The driver was wearing a red and black hoodie.
