Vehicle Loses Wheel Causing Accident in Harrison County

BETHANY MO – A Kansas driver was injured in a crash Monday afternoon north of Bethany.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the crash occurred as 52-year-old Troy, Kansas resident Melissa McConnaughey was southbound on Interstate 35, 1 mile north of Bethany when she lost the rear driver’s side wheel of the tri-glide. The vehicle crossed the median into the northbound lanes of traffic and then impacted a ditch. She was ejected from the vehicle.

The driver was taken to Harrison County Community Hospital with minor injuries.
