Vietnam Veteran from Missouri Talks about being a Prisoner of War for Six Years

(MISSOURINET) –  In 1967, a Missouri Vietnam War soldier’s plane was shot down. Colonel John Clark, of Columbia, was captured and imprisoned for the next six years.

An Air Force operation around Christmas time eventually led to the war’s end and the release of Clark and other prisoners. More than 58-thousand U.S. service members died in the war and some 16-hundred remain missing in action. Colonel Clark served his country for about 30 years.
