Waterfowl Hunting Seasons Approves By MDC

The Missouri Conservation Commission approved recommendations from the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) at its March 14 meeting for upcoming 2023 migratory-game-bird-hunting seasons and 2023-2024 waterfowl-hunting seasons.

The dates for the Mourning Dove, Eurasian Collared Dove, and White-Winged Dove season will be September 1st through November 29th with a daily limit of 15 and a possession limit of 45 for all three species.

The Sora and Virginia Rails season will be September 1st through November 9th. The Common Snipe season runs September 1st through November 16th. The American Woodcock season will be October 15th through November 28th.

Teal Season will be held September 9th through the 24th with a daily limit of 3 and a possession limit of 9.

The North Zone of the Duck season will be held from October 28th through December 26th. The daily limit will be 6 with some species restrictions. The possession limit is three times the daily bag limit and will vary by species.

The Snow Geese and White-Fronted Geese seasons will run November 11th through February 6th. The Canada Geese and Brant season runs October 7th through the 15th and November 11th through February 6th.

The Light Goose Conservation Order runs February 7th through April 30th.

The Youth Hunting Days will be held October 21st and 22nd for the North Zone.
