Weekend Motorcycle Crash Leaves St. Joe Man With Serious Injuries

A Saturday night motorcycle crash left a St. Joseph man with serious injuries.

Troop H of the Highway Patrol says 62-year-old St. Joseph resident Danell L. Hawkins was operating a 2002 Honda GL 1800 northbound on Interstate 29 about five miles south of St. Joseph at 8 P.M. Saturday when he lost control of the motorcycle, which overturned and began skidding before ultimately going off the west side of the Interstate and into the median.

Hawkins was ejected from the motorcycle and was not wearing proper safety equipment. He suffered serious injuries and was taken by Buchanan County Ambulance to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph for treatment.
