Winston FFA Finds Success This Spring Contest
submitted by Katie Martin
The Winston FFA Chapter has been very busy this spring with Leadership & Career Development Events. They had students competing in Agricultural Mechanics, Dairy Foods, Entomology, Floriculture, Food Science, Nursery/Landscape, and FFA Knowledge at the Northwest Missouri district level. The Ag Mechanics, Entomology, Food Science, and Nursery/Landscape teams qualified for state, which was recently held in Columbia. The Food Science Team made the finals and placed 8th overall with Entomology also having a great showing of 13th overall. Members participated in the Career Show, General Sessions, and the Courtesy Corp during the 3 day trip. Kennedy Warner performed on the Talent Stage, Megan Christen received her State FFA Degree and Mrs. Katie Martin, Advisor, received her Honorary Degree. It was a great experience for all, and members will be wrapping up the year with the annual FFA Chapter Banquet on May 4th.
