Reminder: Monday November 21st school will be in session.

Thanksgiving break starts Wednesday November 23.

The Winston Lady Redbird Junior High Basketball Team will play at 7:30 tonight in the Winston Junior High Tournament Championship game.

HS Basketball will play in a Jamboree tonight in Carrollton starting at 5:55.

Junior High Basketball teams will play at home on Monday vs. Gilman City at 6pm.

Winston School Board meeting will be on Monday after the Junior High basketball games at approximately 8:15pm.  Agenda is attached.

The High School Basketball season will start on Tuesday with a home game vs South Harrison at 6pm.

Sophomores!  Josten’s will be delivering class rings on Tuesday, Nov 22nd -they will be here from 7:30 to 7:50.

Congratulations to the Winston JH Boys basketball teams for winning 5th place in the Winston Junior High Tournament.

CJ Mullikin, Noel Nelson and Alyssa Batson were selected to participate in the Honor Band in Chillicothe on Monday.

Congratulations to Braden Lee finishing 45th with a time of 18:51 and Bristol Sheetz finishing 99th with a time of 19:52 in the Missouri State Class 1 Cross Country Meet.

Congratulations to Vanessa Weigand for making the All-District Jazz Band on guitar.

Congratulations to the Winston Lady Redbird Junior High Basketball Team for winning the Championship in the Tri-County Basketball Tournament.

Congratulations to CJ Mullikin for participating in the All District Choir performance.

Thank you to the KAW fire Department for participating in Fire Safety Day at the Winston School.  Multiple volunteers brought emergency vehicles and equipment to educate students about Fire Safety.

Congratulations to the Girls Varsity Softball on a great season.  The Lady Redbirds finished the season 20-7.  Winning the regular season HDC Conference Co-championship, Winning the East Harrison Tournament, placing 3rd in the HDC Tournament and consolation in the Princeton tournaments this season.

Substitute teacher wanted – $110 per day.  Contact the district office if interested.

Sports Physicals must be updated yearly.  You must have a current physical on file to start sports practice

Winston School District requires all students must complete the entire physical yearly.  Below are links to the two required documents.

Lunch and Breakfast prices for the 2022-2023 school year.

  • Reduced Breakfast $.30

  • Reduced Lunch $.40
  • Extra Milk $.30

***We would also like to make you aware that effective for the 22-23 school year the Federal Government has discontinued the program for all students to automatically receive free breakfasts and lunches.  To receive free or reduced breakfast or lunch, families must qualify by completing the application for Free or Reduced meals.

Doors are open every school day at 7:30am for students.  Dismissal is at 3:35pm.  Car riders can be picked up in the car line at the front door.  Please wait in line in your car until students are released to you.  Please do not walk to the front door to get your student.  Walkers are released after all cars have vacated the car line.

School hours for students: 7:50am – 3:35pm.  Students should be in their rooms ready to work prior to the tardy bell.  Detentions will be given for repeatedly late students.

Pocket Sports Schedule for the 2022-2023 school year are available at the school.

Several Improvements have been taking place at the school this summer.  Below is a partial listing.

  • Trailer and accumulated junk from behind the school has been removed
  • Ag, Flex and Health room renovations have been completed
  • Old gym windows opening (behind record boards) have been removed and made weather tight.
  • Concrete parking/drive is currently being installed
  • Gym Floor has been refinished
  • New interactive boards have been installed in seven more classrooms.
  • The lower portion of the gym has been repainted.
  • Multiple classrooms have been repainted
  • Floors are being cleaned, stripped, waxed and painted where it is prescribed.

Parents, please remember to contact the office prior to a student’s absence or before 8:30am the day of.  Parents can call the school at 660.339.6462 for student absences- if it is outside of school hours- no problem! you can leave a voice message. We appreciate your assistance.

Reminder: the collection of Free & Reduced apps determines several funding sources for our school district.  Please returned your application

VoTech students do attend the North Central Career Center on Mondays. The bus leaves the parking lot at 7:15am.

School Coverage:  Tri-County Weekly Newspaper out of Jamesport will be publishing pictures and articles concerning the Winston R-VI School District.
