Senior/Parent Meeting & Financial Aid Night is October 28, 2021 beginning at 5:00 in the Library. At 5:30, an NCMC representative will be here for Financial Aid Night. There will be a financial aid presentation and the NCMC representative will assist parents and students with filling out the FAFSA. Please contact Mrs. Pliley with any questions you may have.
Congratulations to the Varsity Softball team on winning the HDC Conference Championship.
Congratulations to the Winston Varsity Softball team on winning a share of the conference title. This is the first conference title for softball since 1989.
Softball districts start on Wednesday in Maysville. The Lady Redbird softball team will play Stewartsville/Osborn at 5:30pm in Maysville. The Maysville softball field is next to the Maysville Country Club west of town on Hwy 6 and south on SW Lakeside Road. The district bracket is attached.
Winston Sports Updates
*JH Softball (Co-op with Maysville) finished their season with a record of 6-6
*Varsity Football (Co-op with Maysville) is currently 2-4. They have Trenton, Putnam County and Milan left on their schedule before they start districts on October 29.
*The Cross Country season is off to a great start. Braden has medaled at several meets, and Bristol and Ely continued to improve and set PRs at several races this season. Upcoming races on Saturday at Kearney, Tuesday in Cameron, and Saturday in West Platte. From there the team goes to Lee Summit on Oct 23 and Districts is on Saturday the 30th hosted at MWSU.
*JH Basketball practice has started with their first game scheduled for October 21st at North Harrison at 6pm.

The NHS will be hosting a grades 3-6 Elementary Halloween Dance for on Friday, October 29th right after school in the cafeteria. There will also be a photo booth, food, and games. A flyer is attached.

Yearbooks are now on sale for the 2021-2022 school yearbook. They may be purchased online or by sending your order form to Mrs. Faulkner. Click here to order your yearbook online!
VoTech students do attend the North Central Career Center on Mondays. The bus leaves the parking lot at 7:15am.
School hours for students: 7:50am – 3:35pm. Students should be in their rooms ready to work prior to the tardy bell. Detentions will be given for repeatedly late students.
Parents, please remember to contact to office prior to student’s absence or before 8:30am the day of. We appreciate your assistance.
School Coverage: Tri-County Weekly Newspaper out of Jamesport will be publishing pictures and articles concerning the Winston R-VI School District.
Summer improvement projects being completed this summer include:
- Renovation of the girl’s and boy’s locker rooms. The locker rooms are being completely refurbished with new epoxy flooring, windows, fixtures, paint and partitions. Plumbing in showers in being reconfigured to remedy the hot water issues.
- More concrete drive/parking has been installed.
- They gym windows will be enclosed, an exhaust fan and air intake will also be installed.
- Multiple classrooms are being repainted.
- Floors are being cleaned and waxed where it is prescribed.
- Additional water bottle station installed by the cafeteria
- Softball Scoreboard has already been installed
