The Dairy Foods Team placed 2nd in the State at the State Career Development Events this weekend, and therefore will be recognized at the Missouri FFA State Convention on Friday, April 30th during the 2nd session. Congratulations Megan Christensen, Paige Lang, Marissa Uthe, Braden Lee and Mrs. Martin on this accomplishment.
Congratulations to Jordan Hoppenthaler for making 1st Team HS Scholar Bowl and to CJ Mulllikin for making 2nd team.
Congratulations also goes to CJ Mullikin for making 1st Team JH Scholar Bowl and to Noel Nelson and Eli Uthe for making 2nd team.
FFA Drive Thru Breakfast is Friday at 6:00pm
4th quarter progress reports will be sent home Friday.
Winston School Board Meeting is Monday April 19th at 7pm. Agenda is attached.
The next ACT testing date is June 12th. Registration must be completed by May 7th.
The next Second Harvest Food Pantry will be next, Monday April 19 at 10:00am. Flyer Attached

Band/Music Contest
- The band received an Outstanding (II) rating at Missouri Small Schools Band Director Association’s band contest.
- CJ Mullikin was named to the Northwest All-District Choir
- Asher Vaughn – 3rd chair Tuba, All-District Concert Band
- Waylon Estep – 1st chair Drums, All-District Middle School Jazz Band
FBLA Chapter District competition results:
- Kailey Caldwell-3rd place in job interview, Cj Mullikin-3rd place in impromptu speaking, Eli Uthe-6th place in personal finance, and Hannah Hullinger-8th place in political science. Great job, Redbirds! Kailey, CJ, and Eli were all one place away from qualifying for the State Competition.
FFA Contests and Achievements
- The Winston FFA Chapter was well-represented at the recent Area 2 Leadership Development Events. Results are: Eli Uthe-3rd Place & Gold rating, moving on to the district level, Jacob Uthe-Completed Placement Record Book-Gold Rating, Tanleigh Sheetz-Completed Ownership Record Book-Gold Rating, Zoe Taylor-Beginning Ownership Record Book-Silver Rating, Tanleigh Sheetz-Treasurer’s Book-Gold Rating, Karley Roe-Reporter’s Scrapbook-Silver Rating,
- Jacob Uthe- 2nd Landscape Management Proficiency Award Application
- Winston FFA Members Sage Eiken, Asher Vaughn, Destany West, Zoe Taylor, & Elijah Uthe submitted video auditions for the 2021 Missouri FFA Association Talent Competition earlier this spring, and we are pleased to inform you that BOTH auditions were selected to be used during the 2021 Missouri FFA Convention! Sage’s piano solo will be broadcast during Session 1, and the Winston FFA Band’s song will be broadcast during Session 2 both on Friday, April 30th. Congratulations to these 5 individuals for using their talents through the FFA Organization!
- The Entomology Team competed in the Northwest District FFA Career Development Events in Trenton on Wednesday March 24, 2021 where they placed 5th Overall and are the alternate team to the State FFA Entomology CDE. Team members are Amy Caldwell, Reagan Harrison, Hannah Hullinger, & Asher Vaughn
- Congratulations to Elijah Uthe for being one of 75 Freshmen FFA Members selected for the Missouri FFA Association HYMAX Academy!!
- The FFA Knowledge Team consisting of Emma Beck, Sage Eiken, Zoe Taylor, & Trinaty West traveled to Savannah to compete in the Northwest District’s Leadership Development Events. Eli Uthe represented the Winston FFA Chapter & Area 2 FFA Association in the Creed Speaking Competition.
- The Winston FFA had 2 teams compete at the Northwest District FFA Career Development Events on March 17th, 2021. The Floriculture Team consisting of Madisyn Beaty, Karley Roe, & Regina Gerst placed 13th overall. The Dairy Foods Team consisting of Megan Christensen, Paige Lang, Marissa Uthe, & Braden Lee placed 2nd overall, which qualifies them to compete at the state level in April!! Congratulations to both of these teams!
